PWS has expanded its popular Aalborg micro-shaker range with the introduction of a new Oak finish, giving customers and kitchen designers an additional option to meet demand for natural materials and the latest kitchen design trends.

Wood continues to be a prominent trend in kitchen design, with natural finishes increasingly sought after for their ability to bring warmth, texture and a connection to the outdoors into the home. From minimalist, Scandinavian-inspired interiors to more relaxed, contemporary schemes, timber offers a versatile way to soften modern spaces while creating a timeless, considered aesthetic. The introduction of Oak to the Aalborg range taps into this growing trend, combining the enduring appeal of natural wood with the clean lines of contemporary micro-shaker styling.

Featuring genuine European Oak, the new finish has been selected for its clean, straight grain and warm, natural character. A carefully curated, minimal-knot appearance creates a refined look, while a tinted lacquer helps maintain colour consistency and protects against fading, bringing together the appeal of authentic timber with the practical considerations of a modern kitchen.

The introduction builds on the established success of both the Aalborg range and PWS's Oak finish, which has already featured across its Mornington Shaker and Mornington Vale collections. Now available in a more contemporary door style, Oak brings a fresh dimension to Aalborg, offering customers an opportunity to expand their portfolios with a finish that combines natural character and modern styling.

Aalborg's distinctive 20mm micro-shaker frame provides a subtle, contemporary interpretation of the classic shaker door. With a solid 22mm-thick construction and flush reverse, the range is designed to accommodate integrated appliances and drawer systems, alongside lay-on and handleless options, bespoke sizing and drilling for added flexibility.

The new Oak finish offers versatility across a variety of kitchen schemes, from clean, minimalist interiors that celebrate the natural grain of the timber to more transitional designs combining Oak with painted cabinetry and complementary finishes. Its understated character allows the material to remain the focal point, bringing warmth, texture and a natural element to contemporary kitchen spaces.

Laura Valliant, Product Development Manager at PWS, says: “Oak continues to have strong appeal for designers and homeowners, particularly as natural materials remain such an important part of contemporary kitchen design. By bringing this finish to Aalborg, we’re giving our retail partners a way to offer the warmth and character of genuine oak within a clean, modern door style, creating plenty of scope for both contemporary and more transitional schemes.”

With the addition of Oak, PWS continues to build on the appeal of its Aalborg range, providing customers and designers with a considered combination of on-trend aesthetics, established product quality and practical specification options. www.pws.co.uk
