For over four decades, Hill Farm Furniture has been crafting some of the UK’s most elegant, classically-inspired kitchens from its rural base in Newark, Nottinghamshire countryside. Founded by Mike and Carolyn Ashwin, the business has evolved from a pine furniture workshop into a high-end kitchen specialist, now proudly run by the second generation – siblings Chris and Jo Ashwin.
With a design ethos rooted in Georgian and Victorian influences, Hill Farm’s kitchens are a celebration of timeless British style, tailored to suit the unique character of each home. Typical projects span 30-50 square metres, with kitchen values ranging from £50,000 to £80,000, reflecting the bespoke nature and exceptional quality of their work.

Over the past five years, Hill Farm has embraced significant change; investing in new machinery, transitioning from hand-drawn to CAD designs, and refreshing the showroom to better reflect their evolving brand. “We’ve worked hard to raise our profile and ensure our craftsmanship is matched by a strong presence in the industry,” says Managing Director, Chris, who also leads the design process.
A key part of Hill Farm’s offering is their long-standing partnership with Königstone, a premium quartz and natural stone specialist. “We first discovered Königstone five years ago and were immediately impressed by the breadth of their product range,” says Jo. “Whether our clients are looking for quartz, granite, or ceramics, Königstone always has something that fits the brief.”
Today, around 80% of Hill Farm’s kitchens feature KönigQuartz, with the remainder showcasing the natural beauty of KönigNaturals or offering the exceptional durability of KönigCeramic. The collaboration is built on more than just product quality; it’s the exceptional customer service that keeps Hill Farm coming back. “From templating to installation, Königstone’s attention to detail is second to none. The after-sales support is also outstanding.”

The Hill Farm showroom, located on the family’s original farmstead, spans 60 square metres and features two full kitchen displays, three islands, and a boot room – each reflecting the signature “classic, modern country” aesthetic. While expansion isn’t currently on the cards, Jo says, “Never say never!”
Looking ahead, Hill Farm remains committed to delivering the highest standards of design, craftsmanship, and service. “Every project is a journey,” says Jo. “We love helping our clients bring their dream kitchens to life – it’s what makes this industry so rewarding.” For more information on Königstone, visit www.konigstone.co.uk.
