FP McCann has supplied its thin leading edge interlocking concrete roof tiles branded ”Thin Flat Duo” to a brand-new care facility in Manchester. On completion later this year, the 59-bed “Upland Manor” care home on Yew Tree Lane in Northern Moor, Wythenshawe, Manchester will replace the existing Yewtree Care Home.

Client, Lovett Care Ltd in conjunction with Chester based property developer Liberty Care Developments, are building the 3 storey modern facility. Specialist commercial roofing company D&D Roofing Ltd has undertaken the installation of FP McCann’s Anthracite concrete Thin Flat Duo tiles to provide a distinctive contrast to the brick finish to the building and to complement the adjacent residential housing development. In total, some 10,000 tiles have been supplied via Wakefield based builder’s merchant Huws Gray Ltd.

Together with a small quantity of matching Anthracite ridge tiles, deliveries direct to site were from FP McCann’s modern, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Cadeby near Nuneaton, Warwickshire and fitted by the skilled D&D Roofing Ltd team. FP McCann’s stylish looking low-profile Thin Flat Duo tile is also available in Black, Brown and Rustic Red and features a smooth, non-textured finish and straight cut edge.

Commenting on the Thin Flat Duo tile installation, Sam Cousins, Contracts Manager for D&D Roofing Ltd says, “The low-profile Anthracite concrete tiles have given the extensive roof of the building a stand-out appearance as to the architect’s specification. The concrete tiles were simple to fix with minimum breakage recorded. We will certainly consider using FP McCann’s precast concrete roof tile range on future construction projects”.
