Home renovators, self-builders and construction professionals are invited to visit The National Self Build and Renovation Centre Spring Show on the 15th and 16th May, where Ecological Building Systems will be showcasing practical solutions for both new build and retrofit projects.

Visitors will be able to explore two dedicated exhibition stands from Ecological Building Systems, one focused on retrofit solutions and the other on timber frame new build systems. Technical specialists will be available throughout the show to discuss project-specific challenges, detailing and building performance.
Stand 159 showcases retrofit solutions for traditional buildings, including vapour-open systems designed to improve thermal performance while supporting moisture-safe construction.

Featured systems on stand 159 include Retro EcoWall and Retro EcoRoof, designed to demonstrate how sustainable insulation, airtightness and finishing materials can work together within a retrofit build-up. Using materials such as wood fibre insulation, lime-based plasters and airtightness membranes, the systems help improve thermal performance, reduce energy demand and support the long-term durability of existing buildings.
Throughout the show, Ecological Building Systems’ technical specialists will explain how the different layers within these systems interact, from insulation and airtightness to reinforcing meshes, finishing plasters and protective coatings. Visitors will be able to explore retrofit approaches for both internal and external applications, helping them better understand how complete building systems can improve comfort, energy efficiency and the long-term performance of existing homes.
Stand 160 showcases Passive EcoWall and Passive EcoRoof, designed to demonstrate how insulation, airtightness and windtightness layers can work together within timber frame construction. Using materials such as wood fibre insulation, airtight racking boards and monolithic breather membranes, the systems are helping to support the delivery of low-energy buildings, including projects targeting Passive House standards.

Visitors to stand 160 will be able to explore key timber frame construction details with Ecological Building Systems’ technical specialists, including airtightness continuity, wind tightness, junction detailing and open cladding applications. The stand also features UV-resistant and windtight membrane solutions designed for areas exposed to sunlight and severe weather conditions.

Technical specialists Dave Judd and Gregg Peel will be available throughout the show to discuss retrofit and new-build projects with visitors, helping to explain the role of different materials, systems and construction details within the building envelope.
Homeowners, self-builders and contractors are encouraged to bring along drawings, project ideas and technical questions to the show. From insulation strategies and airtightness detailing to moisture management and build-up sequencing, the Ecological Building Systems team will be on hand to help visitors better understand the options available for their projects.
Beyond the exhibition stands, the company also provides ongoing technical support, including project guidance and site visits, helping customers navigate the challenges of both retrofit and new-build construction.
