As the world’s largest and most innovative manufacturer of system solutions for the protection, decoration and functionality of natural stone, tiles and a range of other floor covering types, Schlüter-Systems knows that the success of installations relies on the specifiers and installers involved being able to access dependable design guidance, technical support and broader logistical back-up; overseeing a project from concept to completion, and including project warranties and after-sales service.

Schlüter-Systems was founded in Germany in the 1960’s and now has subsidiaries in half a dozen countries in Europe. Together with the UK, USA and Canada, the company’s commercial reach spans all five continents. Helping to navigate the company’s portfolio of 10,000 product lines has been made easier with consistent support available in every subsidiary, from technical, training and sales support.

In the UK, a dedicated team of Specification Consultants support projects, building close relationships with architecture and design practices, contractors and sub-contractors to effectively manage both commercial and residential projects. Working predominantly across phases two to five of the RIBA plan of work, the Specification team can assist with the specification and review of appropriate Schlüter products, British Standards, and offer guidance and support for product installations.

Supporting the Specification Consultants is the dedicated Technical Services team, who collectively have over 120 years’ experience working for Schlüter-Systems. Offering a full-service package which includes specification writing, CAD drawings, full design of bathrooms, showers and wetrooms, project warranties and much more. On site and remote project support is also available to specifiers, contractors and sub-contractors, with regular inspections available to assess progress and manage compliance with Schlüter’s installation guidelines.

Specifiers can find Schlüter-Systems products listed on the NBS Source, and readily available as BIM objects to make specifications even easier, with NBS Chorus Specifications also available as Uniclass or CAWS.

To give specifiers full confidence in the installation of Schlüter-Systems products, the motto “our products cannot be sold, they must be understood” is lived and breathed by Schlüter’s training programme. Training can be tailored to meet the requirements of contractors and sub-contractors’ project needs to comply with installation best practice. Schlüter have developed the Schlüter Approved Installer Network (SAIN), a network of skilled contractors who have undergone comprehensive Schlüter training, giving architects and specifiers reassurance that the system will be installed to the manufacturer’s standards and offering peace of mind. An extended warranty may also be available when an installation is completed by a member of the network.

The manufacturer further offers a diverse selection of accredited CPD seminars, which can be delivered by its trained experts at specifiers’ premises or tackled online.  Focused on several key sector areas, the RIBA approved CPDs run for 45 minutes to an hour and offer essential information on legislation and common challenges as well as technical insights on the often unique product performance characteristics.

Whatever the scope of a forthcoming contract, specifiers can find the help and guidance they want by getting in touch with Schlüter-Systems to access industry leading knowledge.
