As part of a significant refurbishment project, Style Group collaborated with 3BM and ACS Construction to create flexible learning spaces at Kensington Aldridge Academy, London. A market leader in movable wall systems, Style installed two Dorma Variflex 100 manual partitions enabling large teaching areas to be quickly reconfigured into smaller, fully functional classrooms.

Finished in a durable laminate melamine panel, the movable walls provide a robust, low-maintenance surface — ideal for high-traffic education settings. The system not only improves space functionality but also complements the academy’s modern interior design scheme. The completed installation provides Kensington Aldridge Academy with a versatile, future-ready learning environment. A co-educational state school, Kensington Aldridge Academy (KAA) opened in 2014.

A brand new, state-of-the-art building the academy was purpose built to provide students with the best sports, technology and performing arts facilities. It’s recognised as one of the top academies in the UK. The recent multi-phase development project was delivered over several academic terms with the school remaining fully operational throughout, despite the challenges of a confined and restricted site.

Meeting the changing needs of this busy London academy, Style Group delivered a high-performance movable wall solution that allows flexible learning spaces to be adapted to modern teaching methods, while maintaining a clean, contemporary design aesthetic. The Dorma Variflex 100 system features a concealed powder coated aluminium track, ensuring a streamlined and unobtrusive appearance.

When in operation, the movable walls glide smoothly into position; when not in use, the panels stack neatly to maximise available floor space. In addition to spatial flexibility, the system delivers effective acoustic performance. Once extended, the operable walls provide reliable sound reduction, supporting parallel classroom activities and focused learning without disruption. This project demonstrates how expertly specified movable wall systems can transform education environments, delivering adaptability, sound control and design excellence without compromise. www.style-group.co.uk
