Hörmann Completes Major Installation At Panattoni Park Swindon
Hörmann UK has completed the installation of a comprehensive loading bay and industrial door package at Panattoni Park Swindon, working in partnership with global logistics developer Panattoni and construction company Winvic. One of Panattoni’s significant new global developments, Panattoni Park Swindon spans 360 acres and will ultimately deliver 7.2 million sq ft of logistics, industrial and data centre real estate. Strategically located just minutes from Junction 15 of the M4, the development provides excellent connectivity to London, Bristol and the wider South West.

Hörmann’s latest installation has been completed at S920, the flagship facility at Panattoni Park Swindon and is the largest speculative warehouse development to have been delivered in the UK to date. Offering more than 919,765 sq ft of premium cross-docked space and a 21m clear internal height, S920 has been built to Net Zero Carbon standards and is targeting BREEAM Outstanding, setting new benchmarks for scale and sustainability in the logistics sector.
The facility features 125 loading bays, all equipped with Hörmann SPU F42 industrial sectional doors and HTL2 dock levellers. Featuring a one-metre telescopic lip, the HTL2 provides an optimal loading platform and precise bridging for a wide range of vehicle types, supporting fast, efficient and, importantly, safe loading and unloading operations.

Hörmann DSS/DSG dock shelters have also been installed at the loading bays, providing protection from the elements for both operatives and goods while helping to reduce heat loss during loading and unloading. Reinforced Hörmann dock bumpers, constructed from recycled tyre rubber with 15mm-thick steel faceplates, provide additional protection, helping to minimise potential damage to the loading bay should a vehicle make direct contact with the building.
Traffic lights and dock lights complete the loading bay installations, providing clear visual guidance and supporting high standards of safety and operational efficiency during docking and loading operations.

The facility also includes eight level access doors fitted with Hörmann SPU F42 sectional doors. All sectional doors across the site are finished externally in RAL 5500 Medium Grey and internally in Grey White RAL 9002, with glazed vision panels incorporating Hörmann Duratec synthetic glazing panels for enhanced scratch resistance. In addition, 34 Hörmann STU steel personnel doors have been installed throughout the facility.

Commenting on the project, Phil Thorpe, Industrial Division Manager at Hörmann, said: “This is an important global development for Panattoni and S920 is a particularly significant project given its scale and the high standards it has been designed to achieve. We are pleased to have completed the Hörmann installation and to be specified on the remaining 12 units planned for the development, demonstrating the confidence our partners have in our products and our ability to deliver at this scale."

"We have built strong, long-term relationships with both Panattoni and Winvic and have worked together on a number of major logistics projects. I’d also like to congratulate Winvic on reaching its 25th year in business. Their experience and expertise in delivering complex industrial and logistics developments has made them an important partner for us, and we look forward to continuing our successful relationship.”
The installation at Panattoni Park Swindon highlights Hörmann’s capability to provide complete loading bay and industrial door solutions for major logistics developments, combining dock levellers, sectional doors, dock shelters, vehicle protection and safety equipment as an integrated package. www.hormann.co.uk
