Conference Room Flexibility At London Offices

At a financial client’s W1 London offices, Style worked alongside architects Aukett Swanke and contractor Overbury to deliver a highly adaptable conferencing suite using a  combination of Dorma Huppe Variflex glass and solid moveable walls. With a 52dB acoustic rating on the glass walls and a 59dB on the solid walls, meetings can take place completely undisturbed by external noise, with semi-automatic operation ensuring the acoustic seals are applied to the exactly correct pressure each time.

The solution gives the client the freedom to quickly create a combination of small and large meeting rooms, catering for different events and meetings each day, or use the entire space for larger gatherings. “We were delighted to be entrusted with such a prestigious installation at a leading financial business,” said Michael Porter, Style’s group managing director.

“It is increasingly popular to combine different types of moveable walls. Bringing a solid and glass solution into the same room adds a sense of panache, increases the amount of light and offers a really superb solution to the demand for more flexible meeting spaces. “The moveable wall systems work together to offer a number of different options for how the area is used and also create a real showpiece for visitors to the building.”

The glass walls, set within dark grey frames, introduce a high-end aesthetic to this premium corporate environment while also increasing daylight throughout the space. Complementing them, the Variflex solid panels are finished in 25 mm fabric to provide enhanced privacy. Together, these elements create a system that is both elegant and ideal for multifunctional use.  In addition to visual impact and acoustic control, the Variflex range supports long-term sustainability objectives.
